Welcome to my website!

I am an economist with the Penn Wharton Budget Model at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

My research interests are in applied microeconomics, broadly within labor and development economics. Most of my work focuses on questions in education, family, and gender issues.

I hold a Ph.D. in economics from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. During my time at Georgia State, I worked as a graduate research assistant with the Georgia Policy Labs. Before that, I was a research associate at Innovations for Poverty Action, where I worked on financial inclusion projects.

My email is jvillero@wharton.upenn.edu. Feel free to contact me!
